Stony Point String Band plays traditional Appalachian old-time music (different and older than bluegrass) by keeping history alive playing this traditional music from the mid to late 19th century.

Our goal is to perform and host live encounters with these forgotten songs to keep old-time music alive and introduces it to a whole new generation of music lovers and musicians.

We host instrument pettings zoos, conduct informational presentations, and play at events such as square dances, jams, weddings, and personal events to allow anyone to enjoy and dance to these traditional tunes and songs.
