About

The Stony Point String Band is keeping history alive by playing traditional music from the mid to late 19th century. Live encounters with forgotten songs keep old-time music alive, and introduces it to a whole new generation of music lovers and musicians. They also host instrument petting zoos and informational presentations to allow anyone to play and dance along.

They are frequent performers at Heritage Farm Museum & Village. You can also find them providing music for local square dances in the Huntington-Charleston, WV area.

Some friends of the Park District are hosting “Jam in the Park” every Sunday (weather permitting) from 2pm-4pm in Ritter Park.

You are invited to bring your talents and join them! This opportunity is for bands/individuals that play music, no sound equipment. Just instruments and musicians.

You can find them in the grassy area across from Shelter #2.

Beginners welcome!
